‘who would have thought that an artist and poet could enthral the audience of this years MEDIAN TATTOO, the way Donna Jones MBE did. Donna was the star guest compere for this year’s near sell out concert for bagpipes and military style music and entertainment, in a charity event with special significance for the 100th anniversary of the Armistice of 1918.
Inspired by bare knees of kilted men with hose topped ankles, the audience were carried on a whimsical journey of imaginative and original humour and prose that were conjured up by Donna on that auspicious Sunday afternoon.
Donna was able to capture the audience and hold onto the sense of fun and humour throughout the whole show. She delivered her performance throughout with warmth and meaningful reflection and yet still caused uproarious laughter with her funny anecdotes and jokes.
All this fun, professional and skilful entertainment from such an inspiring and sincere woman who yet still maintained a sense of occasion, with respect and dignity on a day of remembrance and reflection. DR. KIERON COONEY.
